Fixed broadband wireless internet access may provide the industry the circumvention it desperately needs around the labyrinthine regulations of the 1996 Act. The widespread deployment of systems like Beam Reach and Soma Networks to residences and small businesses may well afford the growth in internet usage predicted by people now widely derided as kooks. Hope it happens. Hope the kooks are right.
