I think the easiest way to show the split is by air interface....

Every major CDMA carrier has committed to Snaptrack.

The US GSM carriers have committed to E-OTD (a network based solution). They seem to be having trouble meeting the FCC guidelines right now.

The rest of the GSM world doesnt seem to have really committed to anything....as far as I can tell. The obvious guess is that they will follow the US GSM carriers.

If I remember correctly, Docomo has committed to their own A-GPS solution....this is what Nextel has done as well.
