BTW I didn't realize the Hammer series is based on a whole new architecture.........I thought it was the evolution of the Athlon platform. Is my current understanding correct? The chip is an evolution of the Athlon, but the hyper transport interface and on die memory controler are new. You can't take a Hammer and plug it into an Athlon motherboard, or even use the same chipset on a new motherboard. Tim
