So, is the Fed controlled by private interests?

Is it a Federally controlled entity because it was created by an Act of Congress?

The Fed was chartered to be independent of political influence for a very good reason. Politicians will always choose expediency over principle. Needless to say because the Fed chairmen has to report to Congress they are not completely without influence from the Federal government, likewise they are subjected to influence from the member banks in that this is where they draw their information for decision making and conduct their operations.

As for trying to review your old posts, or anyone else's old posts, I don't think so. But I would be happy if you'd give us links to old posts that you feel would add to our understanding of the issues

I understand the workings of the Fed. Its you and the other people on this thread that are trying to gain understanding. What could I possibly gain from going back and posting links to posts that I've already committed to memory?

Perhaps those with the most money should control the world economy. Do we trust their altruism, or do we accept that what is in their best interests is also in our best interests?

No one is in control of the World Economy. It can't be done.
