So would I. But we're not Iraqis, are we.

Human behavior is fairly predictable. Humans are more likely to shoot at soldiers the more alien those soldiers seem. This is present even in the history of the US revolution, as the Hessians were the most hated forces of the King's.

The facts are that differences in language and religion are wider between the US and Iraq than they were between Iran and Iraq.

By the way, if you've got an example of a place that the US invaded, with guns blazing and bombs dropping, where the locals welcomed the US "with open arms", do share. Or if you've got an example from some other culture I'd like to hear about it.
