Hi Cobalt Blue; Re Afghanistan as an example of a place where the US invaded, guns blazing, and was welcomed with open arms.

But do note that the guns were not blazing at the Afghans, they were blazing at the Taliban, which was run by Arabs, not Afghans.

And our troops were met mostly with relief in Germany, not with open arms.
