Also, we had some Islamic legitimacy at that time as we were accompanied by fairly large numbers of soldiers from Arab countries.

Before we go about saying that Kuwait was easy, and it was all because of the US, let's not forget that what Bush pulled off was considered fairly sweet diplomatic maneuvering. That counts for a lot of our success. Let's not try to repeat the Kuwaiti liberation without the full formula.

And as the military has repeatedly said, Iraq is not Afghanistan. Let's not try to repeat the Afghanistani liberation without the full formula.

P.S. Re "traitors" and the Gulf War. I still don't think that we're going into Iraq (in the sense that I defined earlier, an invasion of Baghdad). But if I'm wrong about that, even though I believe Bush will have made a very risky move, and even though I will not forgive him for taking the risk and creating the "blowback", I will still support this country with my full abilities. And I will cheer our boys when they kick ass.
