As you said...morality exists in logic before it exists in religious dogma. So perhaps in the end we can tame the self serving bigotry that has always been the hand maiden of new religions, and the motive for "conversions".

Well written paragraph. Overall, it is agreeable. I too think it is possible for religions to be benign and fairly moral. I think of the B'hai's as showing a rationally based morality, and thus epitomizing the pre-eminence of reason as a moral foundation.
