By all indications, it will be incumbent on afflicted individual carriers to apply the workaround to their specific networks as required - or consider a recall at their option. Who will absorb added costs for the workaround? Will carriers require that responsible vendors foot the bill? In any case, it appears that the entire cdma value chain - and the very standard itself - will not be burdened by the mistakes of two.
