He's having trouble understanding because he's still in the winning phase of trading.

Grace, more faulty assumptions. I have already been in the losing phase of trading. I lost a serious amount of money in 2000 and part of 2001. The reason that I am still around to trade is that I was willing to adapt to the market.

I started a thread a while back which you posted on a few times. It was called Groundhog Day. That wasn't an accidental title. It refers to the movie where the concept of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. It describes very well what I believe is being espoused by ahhaha and perhaps you. This behavior is often associated with addicts, BTW. The fact is, if you buy a stock at $20 and then $10 and then $5 and then $2.50 and then $1.25, you are clearly not learning life's little lesson about repeating the same behavior and expecting a different outcome.....the only way that the lesson sinks in with these situations is when you hit bottom.

So really, who is the functional addict here?
