That's a great article, if somewhat geeky and scholarly.

Thanks for the apocalyptic view of some Fed Reserve Board economists. This spells out the meaning of "pushing on a string". Our Fed has few bullets left, and they seem bent on spending them in this Congressional election cycle. Woe is us.

The details and history of Japan's decline are bone-chilling. The parallels, ten-year lagged, of Japan to US are just stunning.
