"Liberals are stupid" is a gloss of the somewhat more verbose "It seems to be well received on the Left, to the extent that even if it were not true, it should be true, and that's good enough."

As for calling them as you see them, it seems you used to see a war against Iraq as not necessarily a good idea. Now, after a few months off, Debka is suddenly getting it right. That's ok and everything, but I personally haven't exactly seen much new information in the past few months that would support a major flip. Plenty of war drumming, though.
