Agere Systems Voluntarily Files 8K Certifying Accuracy of Financial Reports
ALLENTOWN, Pa., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Agere Systems (NYSE: AGR.A, AGR.B) today announced that President and Chief Executive Officer John Dickson, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mark Greenquist today filed an 8K to certify the accuracy of Agere Systems' Form 10-K report for fiscal 2001, and Form 10-Q reports for the first, second and third fiscal quarters of 2002.
These actions are a voluntary response to a June 27, 2002, order by the SEC requiring approximately 950 companies to certify the accuracy of financial reports. Although Agere was not one of those companies, the company felt it important to assure the public and investors that it is confident in the integrity and accuracy of its accounting and financial procedures.
