I feel like I'm repeating myself here. The expansion ran out of gas months before Clinton left office, and he didn't bother to refill the tank. That's the legacy he left us: a collapsing stock market and a mess of corporate scandals that were in full effect on his watch.

Tenchusatsu, the recession began either in the last month of the 4th quarter of 2000, or the first quarter of the new year. In Dec., 2000, Clinton was a lame duck prez, and guess who was prez in the first quarter of 2001?
