Here is the critical snip-it of afterhour trades on SUNW:

Sun's earnings, which were issued after the close of trading on Nasdaq, surpassed Wall Street's estimate of 59 cents a share, according to the First Call service.

After briefly dipping as low as $44.50 in the after-hours market, the stock rebounded, with one trade hitting as high as $47.5625 before settling in the $45.75-to-$46 range. Earlier Thursday, Sun Microsystems stock rose 56 cents a share to a new closing high of $45.56 on the Nasdaq market.
