I believe one trend is clear. Less reliance on oil from the Mid East. The USA uses so much oil that it is doubtful one source can fill the needs. The trend is to tap other sources such as the Gulf, Russia, etc. This should place a lot of the Mid East countries in a weaker bargaining position. Many do not have a lot to offer in addition to oil.
