An argument can be made for that Bears team. They were something else. But they fueled a hatred in me that I will never feel for another team. Payton was in the twilight of his career and had rushed on some of the worse teams in the NFL for years. He did this without bitching being the class act that he was. His payment after getting the team to the 2 yard was not a chance for a Super Bowl touchdown. Instead as a lark they hand it off to that fat assed tackle that everyone was in love with giving the Fridge his fat assed place in Super Bowl History.

A coach with any class would have ran Walter 10 times in a row if needed to get him that touchdown IMO.

I'm not sure that Barry Sanders didn't retire not to break Paytons rushing record. Another great back and person who was loyal to his team to the end. It would have been interesting seeing what Payton or Sanders could have accomplished playing for even half way good teams while in their prime.
