Ha'aretz has an article covering the Jordan-Al Jazeera-Qattar tiff.

In Jordan, they're also blaming the media

It has an interesting quote on King Abdullah's current situation:

One Jordanian commentator explained that this affair shows just how much pressure Jordan is under just now. "On the one hand the king is making every possible effort to prevent an American attack on Iraq - he has already met with President Bush six times and has returned empty-handed concerning Iraq. On the other hand, the king does not want to be the last in line if the American government does decide to attack Iraq. Jordan has learned its lesson from the last war [between the West and Iraq] and paid a heavy price for it." At that time all the Jordanian laborers were expelled from the Gulf states and Jordan suffered a heavy economic blow from which it has not recovered to this day. It is actually King Abdullah who has succeeded in reestablishing friendly relations between Jordan and the Gulf states.
