Sorry to spoil it for you Mq but Japan just isnt the same safe place it used to be , not even five years ago. Lots of violent crimes now, some truly bizarre and others completly horrible...

People are well-behaved.

And one more thing, saying Japan is like Britain is usually perceived as a cultural superiority complex, at least when heard from Japanese people themselves... I have heard the argument countless times, and the person usually tries to make the point that unlike A, B and C we are more civilized since we really have a lot in common with the British. BS in my opinion.
