Guess that answers my question. It's kinda misleading to say its a fiber optics killer. I didn't know EMP devices were feasible. Thought they were still scifi, aside from the effects of an nuke. An EMP weapon essentially fries electronics within its radius of effect. Industry officials say the technology exists to support those plans. Mike Booen, vice president for directed-energy programmes at Raytheon, said that high-powered microwave (HPM) and laser weapons are "on the verge of moving from the science and technology phase into the tactical platform phase".
