Perhaps my objection, in Tamyra's case, is more to the song, which is a little weak, compared to other's in Bacharach's catalogue. I just thought she lost the details that make the song viable, blurring it into a generic Bacharach song.

Justin has a serviceable voice, without much timbre, and without technique enough to alter his dynamics to what is appropriate to the style of song. RJ is very limited, but has a sweeter and somewhat fuller voice, with more overtones. If he is comfortable with a song, he can nail it pretty well, whereas Justin is often too self- conscious and showy even with songs that he finds natural for his style.

I do not pay enough attention to Irish tenors, and get them confused. John McCormick was at his best on Irish songs, in my opinion, and if I have a hankering, which is not often, I am well- stocked with enhanced versions of his recordings.....
