How to protect American interests and not trample on the rights of other countries is of course of little consequence

While we should not generally be interfering with the "rights" of other countries, when it is necessary to "trample" the rights of other countries to protect our own interests, we have to do it.

Not in all of recorded history has a country been as responsible as we have, both in the avoidance of civilian casualties and in the rebuilding of countries where we have fought.

Liberals totally overlook the fact that our massive defense spending is what allows us to save lives when it is necessary for us to go to war. While liberals criticize us for spending money on national defense, they are totally silent about the fact that in the last couple of wars those expenditures have saved tens of thousands of innocent lives.

Quite simply, there has never been a nation so responsible in its use of power. So lecturing about "trampling the rights of other countries" is sort of meaningless.
