William & Lizzie,
I owned CCUR up until last week. A few points:

- despite my comments below I do like the company just didn't want to hold it over earnings
- as of late has been acting very well
- about 40% of their business is in defense but not a growing area of defense - may sell it (Aegis missle real time guidance systems)
- not a whole lot of cash - if they miss or lower watch out
- cable companies "must" upgrade to combat satellite inroads but they are slowing down somewhat which is why it has been hit
- I wouldn't touch SEAC because of patent issues with NCube (owned partly by Larry Ellison), CCUR owns part of the same company NCube got some or their tech from (I believe Thirdspace) so no risk for CCUR there
- NCube (private) has been reportedly getting a few big deals (TWC in NY - never confirmed, but this is also a risk)
- CCUR has been upping estimates and beating BUT cable stocks have gotten even more whacked since those projections
- the interesting thing about the Verizon post is that CCUR bought a company recently (forget the name) to boost their efforts with VOD over DSL and claim that this may be really big in foreign markets

Hope this helps

Good Luck
