DAX: Bush put the squeeze on steel and lumber to win the votes for the trade bill. Plain and simple political horse trading. Net net should be a positive but who knows. Obviously pissed off some of our trading partners who of course don't provide any subsidies to their competing business. As for the trade deficit the simple answer is its the oil imports (there is never a simple answer). We cut our oil imports in half the deficit takes care of itself. Its oil more than any consumer area but of course the US debt is always a concern.
