Do you know if PCS has a plan to actually work with independent developers to allow applications such as a mapper to be downloaded? If so, what is the timeline?

I was never able to get much from Sprint on their plans for GPS content. However, here is the message on the A500 in the section where the user turns Position Location On.

"Turning location on will allow the network to detect your position, making some Sprint applications easier to use. Turning location off will hide your location from everyone except 911. Even if location is turned on in this handset, no service may use your location without your express permission.
