You may be right that Bush is "trash talking," but if so, why?

The only experience I have with trash talking is between athletes prior to and during a competition. So to me, trash talking means you are about to fight.

We already know that Saddam isn't going to allow UN weapons inspectors to come back in and start destroying the WMD facilities he's been building up since they left. Saddam's behavior will not be affected what Bush says, and Bush knows it. You know it. I know it. Any suggestion that he would allow the inspectors back in is mendacious temporizing. Schroeder may find it persuasive, but he's wrong. Besides which, he is running behind the conservative opponent, and probably hoping to pick up the anti-war vote.

So either Bush is a mouthy punk, or he means business. My vote is that he means business.

The question then becomes, are we planning on the 250,000 troop scenario, which will take months to prepare, or the 50000 troop scenario, which we could send in right now?
