There was no direct threat to America, other then they intended to be a communist state. Exactly who is "they" Pearly?? Did the people of N. Vietnam get even the most minimally honest choice in what form of government was inflicted upon them?? If so, then why did hundreds of thousands of them flee the North for the South when the country was partitioned in 1958??? And the people in the south, did they have a real chance to establish any form of workable economy and political system when forced to deal not only with these refugees, but also gradually tearing down and replacing the previous French Colonial presence?? And what about those Vietnamese who fled any way they could when the N. Vietnamese troops marched into Saigon??? boatpeople.com Did they "intend" on being a communist state?? Hawk
