CB, Maybe wars are not economically productive after all. That's a continuing urban myth. It astounds me that people believe it.

Look into the TT hole and repeat after me "Wars are economically productive". I doubt that many people would agree with that idea now. I suppose the source of the idea is that in WWII, the USA supplied the weapons and goods before finally joining in at large expense. For decades, the USA has provided weapons around the world at immense profit, so I guess the death of untold millions appears to be profitable when viewed from the offices of and economic neighbourhood of the supplying companies.

Now that Americans are dead and queuing [at security points], I imagine that they are not so enamoured of the idea of IRA terrorism and Osama freedom fighting and war in general as being all that great.

Wars look a lot worse, up close and personal.
