Our forces in Afghanistan are minimal. That deployment would not affect any subsequent engagement with Iraq. We need to maintain a presence in Afghanistan to insure the Taliban and AlQuaeda do not reassert themselves. Clearly, we have less to fear from the terorists because their major base of operations has been denied them but just as clearly this does not mean they have totally lost the capability to striek us again. Their ablity to strile will take soem time to degrade because of the very nature of the organization of a terrorist group as opposed to a sovereign nation...... We are farther down the road to peace and safety than we were on 9/11. There is no quick fix. Bush never claimed there was....
