That's not the point. The point is that the gains in bear-markets are one-day or two-day wonders. Also the gains are huge. In contrast, bull-markets are usually characterized by small and sustainable up moves, with quite a bit of backing and filling. In other words, a bull-market works its way upward, not shoot off upward like a rocket.

Did you know that all of the ten largest one-day percent gains in the Nasdaq since 1971, took place since March 2000?
