Sooner or later they will realize communism is not the way to go.

Again, I guess I have to inquire as to who the "they" are that you refer to??

The "they" that I'm referring to are a group of old communists who, have only one interest in life, holding power and profiting from it, for themselves and their families.

It's no surprise that it required a near violent revolution to destroy the Soviet Union. And even then they saw their former ministers become "robber barons", raping everything they could, and purchasing luxiurious resorts on the Riviera with the proceeds.

It's about power Pearly. Communism centralizes that power in such a manner than it becomes VERY difficult to change the system peacefully. They are no different than a bunch of former street thugs who were able to intimidate and murder their way into power, and have little interest in sharing it with anyone other than a select few.

In a dictatorship, one leader generally represents the interests of various powerful elements, military, economic, and political. If he isn't able to manipulate, divide and conquer, and maintain his power, he falls and the next in line ascends into his place after a power struggle.

But Totalitarian regimes are like overt criminal organizations. They are, in essences, Theftocracies, designed to subjugate the many for the benefit of the few. And they are VERY HARD TO DEFEAT without applying extreme, and often violent, pressure.
