Speaking of lawyers, Bernie Ebbers' lawyer was quoted today as saying how lily white [sorry, I am doing a little adjectival embellishment] innocent he is. Fortune had a nice editorial by one Susan P. Koniak, Professor of Law, Boston University, entitled "Who Gave Lawyers A Pass?" - about how they are always implicated in the development of corporate messes, but never fingered. Says she: they need to be regulated, too. Hear, hear! It's a despicable state of affairs. George
