Ok now....I have to speak here. I hate most of those bums that played for the cowgals back then. I really hate that they were great too. But...

<<he is a dealer, and should be locked up with NO parole>>

Lets get real here for a second. The guy was caught with 175 pounds of WEED! Not crack or blow or several others. Now 175 pounds for personal stash is a bit um...much... but I'm not sure we shouldn't rethink our position on this subject as a nation. If Pot was legal - as it should be - he wouldn't have had 175 pounds of weed. It would be a regulated thing just like booze. Furthermore, I think its time we admit that we can't wipe out all potential evils in society without creating cult like sub-cultures that endanger us far more than some kid smokin a twisty in his dorm room. The fact that Newton had 175 pounds of weed verifies what I'm saying. The ban on pot is what's creating the real evil. The real evil being money and drugs protected by thugs with guns. While I understand that reckless use of pot can lead to problems I think we had all better admit that reckless use of anything - not the least of which is booze - kills. Booze and food are FAR worse killers than POT will ever be even if it was to be used by the entire population! What makes DOPE dangerous is the fact that we banned it and now the thugs run the game just as they did booze during prohibition. So here's a mind blower for ya - lets quit making black markets that endanger good citizens because we've allowed REFER MADNESS thinking to infect our judgment.

Now - Should he go to jail - yep. According to today's laws he should. Is he a danger to society? I don't think so. However - if he is dangerous its because our federal government decided to maintain a policy that is outdated and not consistent with what we learned during prohibition
