Good because the US is about to embark upon an interesting political experiment, where we work to create the first Arab democratic state from the ruins of a tyrannical, yet secular Iraq.

Let's hope you're wrong though I fear Bush will have to order it as a face saving device and that alone. A terrible reason to go to war.

Of course, you realize that is not at all what Friedman has in mind by globalization.

Just watched Lawrence Korb offer his reasons for opposing an invasion and read Brent Scrocroft in the WSJ as to the same. And, of course, we've all read Dick Armey. Serious divisions among traditional conservatives.

It may well turn out that positions on invading Iraq do not fall on traditional left-right lines. Biden appears to favor it, for instance, and Armey oppose it. Both, for the moment.
