Well, I'm not a politician Steven (nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.. :0)

But I'm stating some things out here that politicians are NOT discussing, namely the demographic trends that make our taking such action almost imperative relative to the forthcoming years.

There are millions of muslim youth coming to the age of majority over the next decade or two. And their hearts and minds are up for grabs, either by the west, or by Islamic extremists.

The economic trend of the middle east has been one of corruption and proverty since the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Were it not for the oil, we would haven't spent the money and effort we have in dealing with it.

But now there is a potential for the demographics of the region to create major instability throughout the region, and the world (via terrorism).

Few, if any, of the politicians are discussing these points.

Too "politically incorrect", I'd wager...
