Hi Jill! Excellent point. I believe in having a variety of goals in terms of time. By that I mean having short term, intermediate, and long term goals. I have had long term goals, for example, lasting years, as long as 20 years in one case. Then have goals that support the main goal along the way.

You may recall that I've written some on that on the Porch in the past. I am a believer in that concept. It works.

Here's an interesting exercise. Plot your life on a time line on a single sheet of paper. This will take some time. Put some real thought to it. List the significant life events on that time line. Good and bad. Start at birth. I'm talking about the upper level significant events, the really impacting ones like a death in the family, marriage, having a child, job promotion, etc. They will be like blips along the line. Take a step back and look at your life. I mean really really look at it. It can very telling and may help one make adjustments along the way, to plan things differently, or to simply help put things in perspective.
