`I'm positive about the possibility of having a seasonal turn that will lead to a cyclical upturn. December is coming and you're still going to buy presents for your kids, your wife or your friends. That will put pressure on inventories.''

Montgomery Asset's Castro Comments on Dell, Samsung Electronics
By Darren Boey

Sydney, Aug. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Oscar Castro, who helps manage $1.6 billion of shares at Montgomery Asset Management LLC in San Francisco, comments on Dell Computer Corp.'s second-quarter profit, Asian computer-related shares and industry demand.

On Dell's results:

The world's No. 2 personal-computer maker had a profit of $501 million in the quarter ended Aug. 2 as it sold more PCs to consumers and gained market share in corporate servers.

``On the revenue side, Dell is taking market share. It has excellent management. Our bet is on Dell. We own the company big time. I haven't bought any other computers but Dell in the past four years. All my computers are Dell and my company only uses Dell.''

The result ``will probably put a bit of wood on the fire'' for the U.S. share market later today.
