Yes, that's what I was saying. But wars are NOT necessarily economically productive, which is what a lot of people seem to think. They are actually economically destructive and if there was never another war, it would be economically better than having wars.

You have perhaps seen divorces up close and personal [from an objective lawyerly point of view] and I imagine you sometimes think that they are not economically productive, though of course they are sometimes necessary. If there was never another disagreeable divorce, because they were no longer necessary, then that would be much better, economically, not to mention emotionally.

I remember the first time some old pommy guy in London in 1974 leaned in our van window out of the blue and reckoned we needed a good war to clear the air and it would be economically productive too. I was taken aback and could not make his ideas make sense and as I've thought more, and learned more, I still can't.

He was reflecting an animalistic DNA dominance value system where the alpha male kills off all other males and his DNA goes on to rule all. Well, nature has some sympathy with that value system, but humans are moving beyond it. Humans can pronounce the word ethics and some even know something about them. Some can discuss consciousness and ethics combined. Genocide doesn't fit all that well in an ethical realm.
