AMD increases the pace considerably. How fast the new Athlon is according to his model number and its real-life performance, you'll read here on Wednesday

You know, I've never really bought the "paid shrill's" on web site's argument. But I think if one started to cross corellate the "noise" induced by the perma shrill's with the competitive threat (or lack of) of AMD, one might find a a surprisingly high number, close to 1.0

If AMD can get the Athlon's to >2GHz, then Hammer's with their design optimised for 0.13 SOI should easily debut at >2GHz.

I'm amazed how well AMD's stock has held up in the face of 100's of millions of losses staring them in the face for the next few Q's.

Maybe there really is some scary (for INTC) performance of the Hammer's waiting in the wings (or maybe a Dell design win or two ;)?

There is no doubt in my mind that AMD more than delivered with the Athlon (series) as a product line.

If the same fundamental engineering group designed the Hammer then why should one doubt their capabilities?

I for one am looking forward to hammer (although ATM, looking forward as a casual observer selling naked put's hoping to get in that way).
