9:14AM: S&P futures vs fair value: -9.0. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: -6.0. Trade activity remains relatively flat following the Housing Starts and CPI data. Note that the Michigan Consumer Sentiment number is viewed as more of a focus than the 8:30 ET round of data, which suggests some traders may well be sidelined for the time being. The consensus expectation is for a reading of 89.0 -- that would constitute a slight uptick versus the 88.1 registered for July.
