I'm not well enough versed on corporate tax laws. Are dividends deductable if paid to shareholders? (everyone says they are taxed twice but it's never explained). If dividends were allowed as a deduction would it be likely that more of these stocks would pay a dividend.

So many of the tech companies go up then down then get all their assets and intellectual property sold off to some other entity. It makes you wonder how shareholders are supposed to realize any value in a company.
