It seems so simple to me but I must be missing something.

Look at it from a consumer's point of view. So what is 3G in Europe?

1. it offers probably the same voice quality, except, it will only work in very small pockets here and there, if we are lucky.

2. it will not work anywhere in europe like your gsm now, not to mention many parts of the world.

3. it will be a lot more expensive to buy a handset, we don't know how much more yet, but rest assured that it will be a lot more.

4. it will have substantially less battery life, we don't know how much less yet, but rest assured that it will be a lot less.

5. be careful how you put it because it may heat up without notice.

6. it will cost you a lot more to use the service, we don't know how much yet but rest assured that it will be a lot more. Oh, by the way, it will be a lot more confusing also.

7. you will have very very few handsets to choose from and don't forget 3. above.

8. oh, if you want to have voice service at the same level you enjoy now, we suggest that you keep that service indefinitely.

9. what do you get that you don't already have now? well, we will get back to you on that one.

Now put some lipstick on that pig and sell sell sell.
