Yes, good point. Or if you just look at the model ratings: If Hammer is 30% faster than Athlon XP on average a model rating of 2600+ would indicate a 3380+ Hammer. And that's assuming no further clock-speed advances until Hammer is introduced. And the most important thing is that AMD will even briefly reclaim the performance leadership with the XP2600+. Previously I didn't expect that to happen until Hammer. If the rumors of a added heat-spreader a true too that would be also very good news since OEMs could cool Thoroughbreds more easily then. Since everything together sounds almost too good to be true I remain somewhat skeptical and will keep my fingers crossed... ;-) But either way next week will be very interesting.
