I asked BK what chip set they are using.

He said they are using the IBM chip set. I got the impression that at one time they did use CCube. I suspect the fact that CCube now owns Divicom (a competitor), may have played a role in the choice.

Later I asked Ram Kedlaya about the concern re incorporating some of the coding/compression technology into the chip design; he said what you said- Nuko is a systems company, with the emphasis on the software. During the meeting, BK said that currently it costs about $10k per channel for the 3 chip board solution they sell now; he expects this cost to drop to $1k per channel when the single chip board is used. He implied strongly that this should increase the market significantly. It sounds like you and they are singing from the same hymn book.

Like you, I won't be moved easily to dispose of my shares. Once I make a commitment like this, I'm positively intractable.

BTW, could you give a good layman description of the term "latency"?
