see, this is exactly what i mean...

<<Jeter plays in Yankee stadium which isn't so Righty friendly>>

Jeter's home and road OPS, last 3 years:
2000 .895 home; .897 away
2001 .941 home; .784 away
2002 .804 home; .790 away
in that time period he's also hit more home runs at Yankee Stadium than on the road. so how is it that Yankee Stadium hurts Jeter again??

<<He is also a very clutch hitter>>

there is a situational stat kept called "close and late". i don't remember the specifics, but its basically how you do in a game that's +/- 2 runs in the last 3 innings.

1999 .990 OPS; .968 close-and-late OPS
2000 .897 OPS; .920 close-and-late OPS
2001 .857 OPS; .747 close-and-late OPS
2002 .797 OPS; .642 close-and-late OPS

OK, so he does worse in 'close-and-late' situations than otherwise. that's "clutch"?

<<Again Arod has to prove it or his numbers are just numbers. He also played in two HR derby parks>>

sorry I only have splits back to 1999 handy. In 1999 and 2000, ARod played his home games in Seattle, and in 2001 and 2002 he plays his home games at Ballpark at Arlington.

1999 20 home runs at home; 22 on the road
2000 13 home runs at home; 28 on the road
2001 26 home runs at home; 26 on the road
2002 22 home runs at home; 16 on the road

OK, so how exactly have ARod's homer totals been benefited by his home park?

dood, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Cheers
