As I stated before, I'm not for war with Iraq, or anyone else for that matter....BUT I will believe our Government if it shows us the proof.
Oh, I agree with this statement. My guess is where we disagree is what constitutes proof and how believable the messengers are.
If a bipartisan, credible group (meaning enough Bush critics to make it believable) saw security documents and said yada yada yada, that would certainly be a huge improvement over the present state in which, as the Slate writer said, the Bush people ratchet up the adjective level as a way to offer proof.
And, second, hmm, should have mentioned a first in there somewhere, if there were support from our allies. Now I know the term "allies" is a bit of a weasel word. But there does need to be a wider sense of alarm around the world than is present today. Scowcroft was adamant on that point. No one else, he said, agreed with us on this score. |
