flapp....Many of my family have been, or are, union members. In my opinion, unfortunately. I don't bash unions, but I have been in some business'es that have unions, and have seen LOTS of small lengthy water cooler chats, and not a lot of hussle in movements. I have also been in non-union shops where the folks are paid per piece....There seems to be a good deal of hussle there.

When I said "unfortunately" above...I am specifically thinking of the years a close family member paid dues, and yet, when it came to retire....I believe he got the grand sum of $50/mo from the union.

When he died, I think his widow received his last check, and NO MORE.

This was after a dues paying membership of over 25 years.
