Don; What you are talking about is a normal shakeout in the new home market and follows every bubble. The newbies with their get-rich-quick dreams go belly-up and the process starts all over again as soon as the cheap (and sometimes unfinished) houses are gobbled up . Of course it will hurt them, but HD & Lowes will manage to survive until the next boom. Houses still need new roofs, hot water heaters still go blooey, the deck still needs to be treated every year, and that darned paint sure doesn't last since they took the lead out of it! Come tax return time people will still sink their refund into home improvements.....after all, they have to live there! I've been in this business since 1969 and, believe me, it's like watching the same movie over and over again. JMHO cb
