We are talking the mechanics of a bear market rally, this stuff about how many people are trapped short and so forth. This often starts a longer run, but some things need to turnaround hard for any sustained run -- a run of many months to years I mean.

The two things that argue against a such a sustained run imo are (1) fundamental: crushing debt and (2) technical: that the S&P/Dow are still SO far above any reasonable measure of the mean. It's hard to believe that after cutting the S&P in half that it is still WAY above the L-T trend.

The debt bubble is everything. End of story.
