It is common knowledge that you should get the fastest and newest processor when buying a new PC. I'm buying a new laptop, but the model I like has a P-3 running at 1.13MHz. It is my understanding that the P-3 laptops have significantly better battery life than the identical laptop with a P-4. So, the P-3 looks like a great alternative to the P-4 for me since I tend to run out of battery life on airplanes.

This model has 256k RAM, 30 gig HD, dvd-rom, integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b), 14.1 inch display, MS OfficeXP, Windows XP Professional, and sells for under $1500. I could buy the identical laptop with a P-4 processor for $499 more. I don't think it is worth it.

Would I be buying a dinosaur? Thoughts and comments greatly appreciated.
